Carpenter inks 1-year contract with PWHL Seattle 1667y
PWHL Seattle signed forward Alex Carpenter from the New York Sirens to a one-year contract, the team announced Friday. b6y6x
Carpenter racked up 11 goals and 20 points in 26 games this season. Her 19 goals over the two PWHL campaigns rank sixth, and she's third in league scoring with 43 career points.
The 31-year-old had one season left on her deal with New York. She s forwards Hilary Knight and Danielle Serdachny, plus defender Cayla Barnes, in Seattle. The expansion club can make one more g before Sunday at 5 p.m. ET in the lead up to Monday night's expansion draft.
"Alex is a true competitor who brings intensity every time she steps on the ice," Seattle's general manager, Meghan Turner, said. "She's an elite two-way player who has proven to be one of the best in the world for years, and she has the ability to take over a game at both ends of the ice. She's hungry to win and brings the kind of drive that sets the tone for a team."
Carpenter has yet to play in the Walter Cup playoffs with the Sirens finishing last in both seasons.

Carpenter was a foundational g by New York in 2023, and she was an MVP finalist in 2024 after tying for second in league scoring with 23 points in 24 games.
Internationally, Carpenter has won seven World Championships with Team USA and claimed silver at the 2014 and 2022 Olympics. She has 24 goals and 58 points in 62 games at the Worlds and eight goals and 12 points in as many Olympic contests.
