Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov won his second straight and third career Selke Trophy, the league announced Monday. 5a6p44
The award is given "to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game," as voted on by of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association.
Barkov previously won in 2021 and 2024. He's the sixth player ever to win the award at least three times, ing Patrice Bergeron (six), Bob Gainey (four), Guy Carbonneau, Pavel Datsyuk, and Jere Lehtinen (all three).
His teammate, Sam Reinhart, and Tampa Bay Lightning center Anthony Cirelli were the other finalists. Forty-three players received at least one fifth-place vote. Here are the voting results for the top 10:

Barkov and Reinhart are the first teammates ever to finish 1-2 in voting.
Barkov also received the King Clancy Trophy, which is awarded "to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community."
He was surprised with the trophies in a team meeting by kids at the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.

Barkov has donated $1,600 for every goal and $800 for every assist as part of his #BarkovScores4JoeD initiative since 2019. He's donated more than $420,000 to the hospital in that time.
